Wrap Dress Viburnum Blossom

This wrap dress has the light color of the white blossoms of Viburnum; I created the pattern from close-up photographs of the fragrant clusters of pinkish-white blossoms during a visit to our botanical garden in Washington Park. This hybrid viburnum is named in honor of the English nurserymen Albert and Arthur Burkwood, and I think this specific plant was a Mohawk cultivar. The wrap dress has the same general colors as a flower cluster from this bush, but the pattern has been manipulated to the point that the shapes are abstract and symmetrical. On the sleeves, a close study of the pattern might reveal its floral origins.
